Dear parents,
Coffee morning and afternoon tea
Mrs. Julie Roberts is holding a fund raising event on Sunday 10th May at Llamedos in Manston, the money raised will be shared between our Dance Club and the Joseph Weld Charity. You are invited to the house for refreshments during the day from 10 am and 4 pm. Any donations of cakes or raffle prizes would be very welcome. Please see Julie or leave your gifts in the office (or if you need directions). We are very grateful to the Roberts family for this kind gesture.
Flat lining and rocket launch days
We now have enough parents and children who wish to take part. These will take place on Saturdays after half term. More specific news to follow - hopefully in next Monday’s newsletter.
Sun awareness – No Hat No Play!
As the summer term unfolds and the weather warms up we would like to remind you that the children will need a sunhat (marked with a name or their initials) from Monday 18th May.
Walking to school
Monday 18th May is the start of ‘Walk to School Week’ and we will be holding our annual competition to see which year group has the most walkers. Children are given points for walking all or part of the way to school. There is an attractive trophy for the year group with the highest number of points.
Parking
We have received a complaint about parents parking on the yellow zig zag lines outside the school gate. Please would you park considerately in the local vicinity. If at all possible please try to park away from the school and walk the final part of your journey on foot.
Cygnet
Yewstock school are running a parenting support programme for parents and carers of children aged 7+ who have been diagnosed on the Autistic Spectrum. Please ask for me or Mrs. Wingrove for more details.
Fossil Rocks Festival
Lots of our children are interested in fossils, dinosaurs etc. There is an exciting festival taking place at Lyme Regis starting on 22nd May. As it is half term we thought you would be interested, if you wish to know more please look at the website: - www.evolutionrocks.net/information.html Thanks to Phil and Sarah Blake who pointed this out to me. It is a National Family Week during half term and this sounds like it could be a fun day for the whole family.
Yours sincerely,
Susan Marsh (Mrs.)
