Year 6 play some good Cricket at local tournament
created: Friday May 21, 2010 by Mr Hull

Year 6 play some good Cricket at local tournament  The year 6 cricket team enjoyed three hours of matches at the recently held Kwik cricket tournament held in the grounds of Blandford school.  Starting against Sherborne Primary, Joe Peters hit a flurry of sixes and fours in the teams score of 273.  However, the umpires mysteriously changed the team's total to 269 during William Barnes innings, and Sherborne just pipped them to the post with a score of 273.  In the next game, William Barnes scored an impressive 289 and then dismissed Marnhull cheaply.  Against a strong Milldown Middle, the team played well but were heavily beaten due to some very accurate fast bowling.  In their final game, the team beat Dunbury school convincingly.  All the children enjoyed the day.  Mr Hull would like to thank Mrs Haywood for biscuits and for helping with the transport
